How we got here
How we got here
This project has grown gradually rather than according to a grand plan.
Beginning around 2009, Arnold began collecting scanning family photographs, documents from albums preserved by his mother, Miriam Vinnard and and began to enter them into Reunion genealogy software. Over the years the Reunion database grew to become a sizable organized collection of pictures, memorabilia, citizenship documents, old letters, biographies.
David has developed another substantial collection, especially of family photographs and documents. Much of his material is organized separately in Google folders. His careful work identifying people, dates, and places has added a great deal to what we know.
The two collections overlap. David's collection has many more photos and documents and the photos are much better labelled. The Reunion database has not been updated with many of David's elements.
This website presents selections from both collections that is just enough to get a start at sharing both collections and hopefully inspiring curiosity and interest in the larger story behind these initial elements.
